On my pages, sometimes I include visible anchors for easy hyperlinking (both creating links, and simply using them). They are identifiable by starting with a pound/hash sign. One can visit this page with a web browser and append the name of the anchor (starting with the pound/hash sign and not including the square brackets) to the web page's address and most web browsers, even simplistic ones, will try to scroll as needed so the anchor is as close as possible to the top of the viewing area (which generally makes up a lot of the areas known as the "web browser window" and the "screen"). The anchor will generally/always not go to the top of the page viewing area if the anchor is considered too close to the bottom of the page, which will depend in part on the size of the viewing area. Typing of sentences are likely to show two spaces between sentences. I had researched this and found that is the older standard from when typewriters printed things in monospace, as it was determined to be easier to read (by finding sentence breaks). This matters little when proportinal font display is being used, even to the point of being completely unrecognizable (especially with web browsers that do truncate multiple white spaces down to a single white space), and today a lot of people tend to read a lot of text displayed in a professional quality using proportinal fonts. For the reason of proportional fonts' popularity, this issue may matter very little. It is for that very reason that it seems single spaces after periods have developed some widescale preference over using two spaces. When the issue does matter more, though, would be when the advantages of using two spaces do have some impact: When using automation and when viewing in a monospaced font. I believe I may even prefer quaity monospaced fonts and use them quite a bit (with text-mode displays, or graphical representations like windows of text mode displays, rather than GUI environments).

Directories tend to have main files named after the directory they are in, rather than being named index.htm. This allows for you to be able to see a directory's contents, including other files and sub-folders that might not be linked to from the web page, if desired.
